How To Set Up a Free Google Voice Phone Number

Some of the offers will require your phone number, but always make sure to never give out your real phone number, unless you don't mind. These offers may send out automated phone calls that will spam your phone and annoy you. This will also help you protect your privacy!


With this in mind, the trick is creating an extra free phone number. To do this, I simply signed up for a google voice number using my gmail that I created. This service is free and works great. I can see all my voicemails and SMS texts by simply logging into my gmail or going to google voice. To see the steps for signing up for a google voice number, follow the next steps:

             

Steps to get a Free Google Voice Free Number:

1.) Be signed in to your Gmail.
2.) Search for Google Voice.
3.) Click on the URL link for Google Voice.
4.) Choose for personal use.
5.) Click on Web
6.) Choose a city for new number.
Tip: Choose the closest city which has an available number.
7.) Choose any phone number you like.
8.) Click Verify and type your cell number, to link it to your phone.
9.) A 6 digit verification code will be sent to your cell phone.
10.) Input that code to the Google Voice Website, to finalize.


Tips:
You can remove the screen call setting, so that people that call you won’t be asked their name.
Steps to Remove Screen Call Setting:
1.) Go to setting in the top right corner. (Gear Icon).
2.) Click on calls on the left, and then scroll down until you see the screen caller option.

3.) Click on slider to turn off that feature.


Also, you can unlink your cell phone at any moment online after you have completed verification, so people can only call you on your computer.
